Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex inspired young women everywhere long before she became a member of the royal family in 2018 after marrying Prince Harry. Prior to becoming a royal, while playing her role on the hit TV show Suits, as Rachel Zane she had a lifestyle blog called The Tig. This blog was motivational to its readers and provided constant encouragement.
Due to royal protocol, the blog had to shut down when she became engaged to Prince Harry. But there is hope for its former readers as Meghan has stepped down from royal duties, she may return to lifestyle advice, says a royal insider.
In the year 2014, Meghan launched her blog The Tig which shared a plethora of advice on health, fashion, beauty and anything else that inspired lifestyle. You may be thinking how did she come up with the name for the blog and what does it even mean. In simplistic Meghan Markle fashion, the blog’s name is short form of her favourite wine. Tignanello, a red wine made in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. As the story goes, when Meghan first tried Tignanello, at long last she finally understood what people meant when they talked about the body, structure, and finish of a wine. So with the blog, it just became the understanding of everything in life, she finally got it.
Alongside The Tig, all of Meghan’s social media accounts were shut down. She had large followings on social media platforms reaching up to 3 million followers on Instagram alone. Little did she know that as she became a member of the royal family her fan-base would only grow.
Taking on her new role as the Duchess of Sussex and engaging with people all over the world, her philanthropy and service did not stop. Meghan was still able to relay the same message from her lifestyle blog to people everywhere and that is to live your best life.

Meghan’s many fans will be excited to learn that she may be relaunching her lifestyle blog. Royal expert, Myka Meier recently appeared on the podcast, Royally Obsessed to discuss the Duchess of Sussex’s future plans and her potential return to social media.
“I think Meghan is going to have another Instagram,” Meier said. “I think she’s going to do a Goop, like a new version of The Tig … I have a friend with a little bit of insider knowledge, and I think she’s already working on something,” Meier continued. “I think we will be seeing something very interesting and creative with masterminds from all over the world coming together to bring something inspiring soon.”
Meghan’s re-launch may not be the same content or name as her former blog, but will hold many of her true values and push the philanthropic agenda she is so passionate about. Empowering women and living your best life.
