Entertainment News Weekly Roundup: The Good, The Bad & Everything In Between

Some days fly by and some drag on; I guess that’s the norm in pandemic life. Regardless, of the day, we love when celebrities use their massive platforms to advocate for those without a voice. We’re here for all the controversial topics and all the social media trolls that jump on the bandwagon. Good or bad, the trolls probably provide just as much entertainment as the actual entertainers – they always have an opinion, whether we want to hear it or not.

Regardless of how long the day may seem or how many trolls came out to play, we’re here to report all the entertainment news – the good, the bad and everything in between.

The Good

MICHAEL B. JORDAN and LORI HARVEY! People’s Sexiest Man Alive and Steve Harvey’s stepdaughter (who he adopted) are Instagram official and wow, what a beautiful couple. Rumours have been flying for a few months, but it’s finally confirmed and we couldn’t be happier for them. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t also jealous of Lori because… MICHAEL B. JORDAN <3

Beyoncé’s mom posted a video of Blue dancing on Instagram. I don’t know if the video is a Beyoncé-approved post, but we’re happy we got to see that extremely feel-good moment. Tina Lawson commented that Blue dances just like Solange (Beyoncé’s younger sister) when she was Blue’s age. Dance lessons with Blue, anyone? Sign me up!

The Bad

If you’ve seen the new Vogue cover featuring Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, or if you’ve seen comments about it on social media, then you know it’s pretty disappointing. Vogue has had some epic covers, but this is not one of them. Before the release, the cover photo was leaked and in swooped the online world; free to take their shots, and did they ever. Some mentioned the lighting was horrible making her look “washed out,” others said the picture was blurry and looked like it could have been taken by her husband. A remotely better picture was used for the digital cover. Anna Wintour defended the cover, but it’s a little too late to go on the defense, if you ask me. It could have been an epic cover, but it’s just lacking in all aspects.

Everything in Between

It’s not really news that another person, celebrity or not, has tested positive for the virus. However, you may recall when Elon Musk may or may not have had COVID-19 – he had negative and positive tests. Anyway, his girlfriend and baby mama Grimes has announced that she has COVID-19.Grimes announced her positive test on Instagram and her choice of words was rather odd. She admitted, “Finally got COVID but weirdly enjoying the DayQuil fever dream…2021.” It’s great that she seems to only have mild symptoms, but considering the state of the pandemic and the amount of lives taken, I find it interesting (maybe even brave) that she would make light of such a dire situation. It would be nice if we could all “enjoy the DayQuil fever dream.”

How many times have you thought to yourself: I wish I had The Rock’s physique? Never. Regardless, that doesn’t matter because it’ll probably never happen, but maybe we can have an endless supply of energy to try to achieve our 2021 exercise goals. Dwayne Johnson and some business partners are launching an energy drink in March called ZOA Energy. It’s supposedly the first energy drink that is clean and healthy, featuring ingredients like turmeric and acerola, as well as a “healthy dose” of natural caffeine. I can definitely smell what The Rock has been cooking.
