Entertainment News Weekly Roundup: The Good, the Bad & Everything in Between

It’s been brought to my attention that politics is the new entertainment news. All the naked photo scams, Demi Lovato’s censored Billboard Music Awards performance and not to mention Kanye West dropped his new presidential ad campaign.

It’s been a pretty slow entertainment news week, but maybe all the celebrities have banned together to force the spotlight on politics and show their presidential candidate support. Or maybe they’re all just tired of entertaining us.

Nonetheless, politics aside, we found a few interesting things this week that are good, bad and somewhat in between.

The Good

This first bit of news is a feel-good story because we really need one of those. A lucky couple were photobombed by none other than Dwyane Wade, but it wasn’t just any old picture being taken. It was a beach proposal! Dwyane Wade was captured in the couple’s proposal photographs and his reaction was epic. Hand over his heart, he was clearly feeling the love.

Taraji P. Henson and her fiance broke up. Why is this good news you ask? Well, Taraji P. Henson can find a way to turn any situation into an enlightening learning experience that inspires all relationships. She confirmed the split on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club and said, “We have to first learn how to make ourselves happy, to make each other happy.”

The Bad

Okay, so, Ayesha Curry showed off a new hairstyle; a very blonde look. Of course, that’s not bad news, but then the social media trolls took their shot at her and that’s terrible news. She debuted her new look on Instagram, captioning the photo, “Mom goes blonde (temporarily).” Well, apparently some people had some opinions of their own and felt the need to share, telling her she looks like a “white woman.” However, this story gets good again. Steph Curry to the rescue! The basketball star commented on his wife’s picture saying, “You beautiful baby. And don’t you let anybody tell you differently ok?”

Cardi B has deleted her Twitter account, I repeat, Cardi B has DELETED her fabulously entertaining Twitter account. Known to speak her mind, the rapper recently called out fans for judging her relationship with on and off again beau/baby daddy Offset. Can’t we all just let Cardi live her life? Please, let Cardi live and love and entertain. There are bigger fish to fry.

Everything in Between
The trailer for Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman’s new movie, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, has just been released. It’s the final film that Boseman completed before losing his battle to cancer in August. In an interview with Zora, Davis spoke about remembering the late actor, her time with him and what it was like working with him. She said, “In hindsight, I noticed all the wonderful people he surrounded himself with were always praying over him and meditating over him, and I thought that was part of what he demanded or [how he] created that sacred space. I didn’t know they were just trying to pour life and energy into him.”
