Welcome to November!
The year has been challenging but I am confident that the New Year will bring new beginnings; we just have to hang on and push through for one more month and then we can begin to lean into the holidays.
Typically, this is the time of year where we would all be making plans to get together with family and friends but with COVIDs unrelenting pursuit, the holidays may be a little more isolating than usual.
We want to encourage everyone to make plans to continue to check-in with their loved ones. Setup family zoom nights to maintain some semblance of a social life. We may not be able to have too many gather in one place, but the concept of the ‘drive-by’ is still a great way to see the people you care about while social distancing.
On another note, don’t forget that November is also known as Movember where we raise awareness about men’s health, specifically as it relates to prostate cancer. Visit https://ca.movember.com/ to learn all the ways you can participate in Movember activities to raise awareness about men’s health.
Lastly, don’t forget that November 11 is the day that we remember the fallen soldiers who fought and lost their lives on our behalf. I don’t know about you, but I would not have the courage to go to war for anybody, so we acknowledge and honour the brave men and women who prioritized us over themselves and even their own families. The same sentiment goes to our first responders and health care workers putting their lives on the line everyday to heal and care for those affected by COVID. We pray for and salute you.
