Podcasts to Help Stay Motivated

We could all use a little extra motivation in 2020

With a modern approach to talk radio, podcasts are averaging some of the biggest worldwide audiences, largely due to its convenience and influencer status. A podcast can include a host or multiple hosts discussing topics of all different genres from anywhere in the world. The most striking feature about a podcast is it can vary in length. There are no set time limits and thus, it is simple for one to tune in to any podcast that interests them, at any time, for any amount of time preferred. 

Recognizing podcasts as a new media outlet, in May 2020, a Pulitzer Prize went to the podcast This American Life, for an episode that highlighted a Trump administration’s policy. The prize validated the outreach, audience and likability of podcasts.

The year 2020 has been far from normal and filled with unexpected twists and unprecedented times. The need to stay motivated is greater now than ever. Fortunately, we’ve been blessed with a wide range of motivational podcasts we can choose from and listen to at our convenience. 

Here is a list of five motivational podcasts:

  1. The Happier Podcast

From the New York Times Bestsellers’ list, The Happiness Project, author Gretchen Rubin brings us The Happier Podcast. Whether you need to create happiness in your life or explore your daily lifestyle habits, this podcast is a great guide to help you achieve happiness towards the overall quality of life.

Rubin uses humour and human nature to create a podcast filled with tips and tricks to living a happier life.

  1. The Science of Success

If you’re in need of motivation for personal growth, Matt Bodnar hosts the weekly podcast, The Science of Success. Bodnar invites guests from varying professional backgrounds such as neuropsychologists, FBI hostage negotiators, and mindfulness gurus to talk about the science of mind. 

The podcast aims to guide listeners towards their greater potential and learn about becoming better versions of themselves.

  1. The School of Greatness

The host of The School of Greatness, Lewis Howes, is the perfect person to boost your confidence with his motivational words. Whether you want to pull yourself out of the dumps or just find everyday motivation, he has something for everyone. 

Howes’ podcast inspires you to dream big and prepare for success. His stories aim to help his listeners find a sense of purpose in their own lives.
