The latest edition of the Forbes’ annual rich list is out, and among other developments, it crowned Rihanna as the wealthiest female musician in the world. With an estimated wealth of about £471m ($600m), Riri sits conveniently at the top of the chart, above other superstars like Beyonce and Madonna.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty, aka Rihanna, is a renowned hip-hop singer, with credits for the biggest hits in the industry over the past couple of years. However, with no new album to her name since ‘Anti’ in 2016, it is surprising, if not fascinating, that Rihanna is claiming the biggest spot among the wealthiest female musicians around.
Perhaps, Riri hasn’t made much from music in recent times, the same cannot be said for her ‘side hustles.’ The 31-year-old superstar singer has invested a lot into the beauty and fashion industry, and the results are now more evident than ever.
Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty was launched back in September 2017, as a beauty brand. Fenty Beauty has been a huge success since inception, with the brand turning in about $100m (£78m) in its first few weeks and up to $570m (£448m) in the past year (Forbes). Riri also boasts of a lingerie range and recently became the first woman with a clothing line with French Company Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), all contributing to her net worth.
