Wines of Israel to Host First Grand Tasting in New York City

Wines of Israel has today announced its first-ever Grand Tasting in New York City, to be held the evening of Tuesday, September 10, 2019. Over 30 wineries from Israel will be present, representing Israel’s wine regions within the context of “Grapes, Grains, and Olives.”

Also on display will be breads and mezze provided by a lineup of outstanding local restaurants, including Breads Bakery, Nur, and recently-opened Lamalo.

This ticketed event, open to the public, will be hosted at Union Park Events (5-7 East 17th St.) near Manhattan’s Union Square from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased for $75 at Eventbrite.com. Please note that this is not a kosher event, although all food served will be vegetarian.

Israel may be more famous for its rich culture and long history than its vineyards, but the country boasts a thriving young wine industry, offering unique fine wines from Mediterranean terroir. From Rhone and Bordeaux blends to indigenous varieties from forgotten old-vine vineyards, Israel’s talented winemakers are exploring it all.
